Flow Blue Tea Pot with Gold

  • ITEM - Rococo Style Teapot
  • DATE - c1860
  • PATTERN - Possibly Marble with gold flecks
  • MAKER / ORIGIN - Possibly S. Alcock as the finial is similar to that used this factory
  • SIZES - 8 ¾ inches high to the finial on the lid 9 ½ inches from spout to handle inclusive
  • A very beautiful and impressive piece of good coloured flow blue - a lovely elegant shape and the gold flecks and rim decoration set the piece of to perfection
    Condition of Item
  • There is no damage - there are 2 factory flaws on the spout where it joins the main body - these are firing
    lines or creases where the pottery has very slightly shrunk in the kiln causing the lines to occur - they are not
    cracks and do not go through - they are surface only
  • There is no restoration and the lid is correct with a steam vent
  • Slightly uneven to the base and a little grit under the glaze on one foot but it is minor and part of the charm of an early piece of porcelain
